Father God . . . Daddy,
You are my All in All. You are my Comforter, the One who loves me with an everlasting love.
Yesterday morning our middle school staff began a long day of in-service with teacher-led devotions. To conclude our time of Bible study, the teacher in charge directed us to begin speaking out Your Names, proclaiming Your character and Your promises. The moments that followed were truly holy . . . set apart . . . awe-inspiring. Enveloped by Your Presence, I was brought into Your throne room. Around the room softly spoken names began to be declared by Your children. Experienced colleagues acknowledged their insufficiensies as they intoned words describing Your nature . . .

The list went on and on, as we were humbled and empowered by Your Presence. Thank You. Thank You for meeting us, abiding with us, never leaving us nor forsaking us. May my life today bring You glory. May I exude the sweet fragrance of one who has sat at Your feet, climbed up into Your lap, been held by my Heavenly Daddy. Please fill me with Your Peace and Your Joy.
The words of Psalm 107:8-9, 20, 29-30 resonate in my heart. “Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven.”
I love you. I love how You created me. You gave me my desire to string words together, so that readers hear music in their harmony. You gave me the passions that drives me, the dreams that inspire me. You gave me my compassion for hurting children, and my longing to make a difference in this world. You gave me my yearning to be a wife and, one day, a mother. Amy Carmichael, a missionary in India in the 1800s, once wrote that “God will always fulfill the desires that He creates.” I am going to hang on to those words of wisdom – not only for me, but also for my dear friends who are also waiting on dreams to take shape in their lives. You are “I AM” everything.
Love, Lauren
